Joana / Mancow's Vanilla WoW 1-60 Speedrun Attempts

Here is a list of all the most notable speed runs I have done through Vanilla World of Warcraft (2005 - 2007).  I also leveled 1 more Warlock prior to the first one below.  My first Warlock wasn't necessarily a speed run at all as I went through the game slowly to learn the game, read the quests, do instances, etc..

1st one on EldreThalas:  (10 days 15 hours)
PvE realm opened Feb 22, 2005

This was my 2nd 1-60 WoW run ever.  This was done with a Warlock.  I wouldn't exactly call this a speedrun, even though I still achieved server first to level 60.  I goofed off a lot, went AFK many times, did STV arena.  I remember having a lot of fun releasing Doomguards on Alliance towns after reaching level 60.  Doomguards were a lot of fun and surprised many people!

2nd one on Malfurion:  (6 days 17 hours)
PvE realm opened Nov 8, 2005

I wouldn't exactly call this a speedrun either, as I spent time in the STV Arena and killing Alliance guards in towns for fun but still while trying to experiment with different questing routes to see what's faster.  This was also my first time with a hunter.  So I learned the class along the way while at the same time trying to be fast.  Again, I still acheieved server first to level 60.  I played nearly 20 hours per day.

Check out a screenshot compilation of me leveling on Malfurion!

3rd one on Akama:  (6 days 4 hours)
PvP realm opened Nov 30th, 2005

My leveling skills are getting so fast that people on the forums were saying I was cheating, or hacking, take a look here for one of the forum topics going on while I was leveling. You can see screenshots of this speed run journey here:

I spent some time during this run to do the STV arena a few times for fun, and still managed server first to 60.

4th speedrun on Gul'Dan:  (5 days 9 hours)
PvP realm opened Dec 14th, 2005

Gul'Dan was when I really wanted to get deeper into the speedrunning aspects of WoW.  I started spending more of my time actually practicing and finding faster methods for 1-60 instead of doing end game content as much.  Gul'dan was also the first server I started using the name "Joana" on.  I randomly decided to choose a female troll hunter and named her Joana, no particular reason.  It blows my mind how big this name actually became known in the WoW universe.

5th speedrun on Hakkar:  (5 days 2 hours)
PvP realm opened Jan 2, 2006

I did this realm in the shortest time span out of any realm of only 6.5 days to level 60.  When I hit 60, no one else on the entire server was even 50 yet.

The next realm (Jubei'Thos) took almost a whole day longer due to all the logouts I needed to do to setup FRAPS video compressions to my other PC.

6th and final one on Jubei'Thos (4 days 20 hours, the one with the recorded 1-60 speed run video):
PvP realm opened Jan 26th, 2006

Here's a graph of the horde players on the server at the time when I hit 60:

As you can see, the player Leshraque was right on my tail the whole time!  I have to admit I had a little bit of pressure from Leshraque. It was the most pressure I had since I started speedrunning WoW.  He was always no more than a few levels behind me.  He did a pretty good job of keeping up with me. Leshraque's final play time at level 60 was 6 days 22 hours.  I did this run in a 7 day span. It took a days span longer for me because of all the times I had to log out every hour for like 15 minutes to setup data transfers and compressions for the 1-60 video I was recording.
